Pred mesecem dni sem prebrala prvi del z naslovom Like Candy, če objave še nisi prebrala, lahko klikneš na povezavo (Like Candy) in jo prebereš sedaj.

About a month ago I read first book in this seris. If you hadn't read it alredy you can click here (Like Candy) and read it now. Before reading this post I recommend reading  book Like Candy or at least reading my review so you will better understand what it is all about.

Sometimes lies are sweeter than the truth.

Beauty is alluring; it can disguise the ugliness beneath. But scarred beauty is even more potent to a girl who vowed never to let her heart be broken again. It was an easy vow for Candy to keep until she met Jonah, an arrogant boy with a face that would be too perfect if not for the scar that marred the skin beside his eye.
That imperfect boy earned her trust and won her heart, but the ties that bind people together are fragile, especially when lies are told. Trust is also fragile, and once broken, doesn’t heal like a heart. Trust has to be earned again, and Jonah desperately wants Candy’s trust back.

But Candy has more than Jonah to worry about. Her father is in trouble, and she intends to help him whether he likes it or not. People tell her he’s a bad man, and that may be true, but he’s not all bad. Deep down, she understands his brand of badness because she’s so much like him.

When Candy finally learns the truth, she’ll have to grow up fast, let go of old grievances, and realize that being vulnerable doesn’t make her weak. In fact, opening herself up may be the very thing that makes her
whole again.

Beginning of the book is great. Author in the first two chapters talk about the previous book. First chapter is about Candy's diseas CREST syndrome, if you don't know what this is you can google it or read all about it in the book. Second chapter is all about impostant events from Like Candy. I read previous book in September so I still remembered everything, but if the time gap would be longer this part of the book would came in handy.

The story continue from the moment it stopped in the first book. I realy like that, because I don't like stories where all the action is left out.

Najbolj me je pritegnila zgodba. Seveda, so imele nekatere podobno tematiko.

What I love about this book is the story. Untill now I had read many books, and none of them have a story like this one. Of course some of them have something in common to this one. But in most books characters fight evil as murderers, assassins, monsters … But Candy unlike them wants to become like her father, assassin for the government. That part was something totally new to me.

I also like relationship between Candy and Jonah but in the same time I must mention that it was a little unreal too. If I were Candy, I would never forgave Jonah so fast, I mean 2 days are not long enought to start talking to traitor. Traitor who was partlially responsible for danger to your love ones. But because I wanted a happy ending I tried to erased that part of book from my memory.

No, pa saj veš kaj mislim.

I must confess I expect much more from this book, the reason for that was probably Like Candy. I mainly missed action, that kind of action that makes your heart beat faster, but sadly that kind of action was not in the book.
There were some emotional moment, because of them I used tissue papers a lot. Personally I don't see myself as a very emotional person ( The Fault in Our Stars didn't make me cry like everybody else) but some of the conversations were so ful of emotions that I just couldn't help myself.

If I sum it up: this book didn't reach my expectations, but still it is well written and interesting for reading. A lot also said the fact that I read it within 24 hours. Even though series Delirium and Candy don't have so much in common I thought that if you like Delirium you will also like series Candy. So hurry up and read it!

Her description of herself is : I'm addicted to books of all kinds, particularly funny ones. When I'm not writing or working, I love to surf or ride my bmx bike. I once spent two full years traveling around the world on a surf expedition, which was awesome. I highly recommend adventures in any format.A lot of people wonder how to say my last name--Wyshynski--but it's super easy. Just think "wish-in-ski".

VSEBINA - SYNOPSIS

Pravijo, da je Hunter Cayman nevaren.
Pravijo, da njegov laboratorij predstavlja grožnjo vsem v mestu.
Ampak jaz nisem prepričana, da imajo prav.
V obljudenem klubu, v soju luči mi stoji nasproti. Takrat pod njegovo temačno 'fasado' zapazim nekaj dobrega. Nekaj dostojnega in velikega.
Ne vem niti komu niti kaj naj verjamem.
Ampak izvedela bom resnico.

My friends say Hunter Cayman’s dangerous.
They say he's a threat to everyone in town.
I’m not so sure.
As he stands before me in this crowded club with the lights shining around us, I catch something good under Hunter’s dark facade. Something decent and profound.
I don’t know who or what to believe.
But I will find out the truth.

ODLOMEK - BOOK EXCERPT

With you I want to share this awesome excerpt. It's in english so all slovenian readers won't be able to read it, but I believe that you can do it if you want to. You won't regret this few extra minutes of reading, believe me! This excerpt is part of chapter one, so by reading it you won't spoil yourself anything.

I stumble through the red-tinged nightclub haze and wonder if this is what purgatory looks like. Ella and Gage are nowhere to be seen. Did they leave? I hurry out the club door and cold air engulfs me. A gasp bursts from my lips, half relief, half shudder, as the night’s damp fingers creep through my fluttering dress.

Shivering, I wind my arms around my ribs.

That’s when I see him. Dr. Hunter Cayman.

The man the town has been whispering about. The man no one really seems to know. The man my father despises.

He’s across the street, leaning against a steel monster—a low-slung black car, its curves somehow wicked in the night. Rain sparkles like fire on the front hood under the glow of the orange streetlamps. His startling, magnetic intensity pulls at me so hard that I can’t seem to look away.

For a doctor in charge of a research facility, he’s young. Late twenties, maybe. His dark gray T-shirt stretches across his muscular chest. His thumbs are hooked into the pockets of his well-fitting jeans, and his strong forearms are bare to the relentless drizzle. In fact, he seems to enjoy the misty wetness. Like he’s in his element. The way I would be on a beach in Hawaii, a million miles away from this tiny, nowhere town.

Despite the midnight sky, he’s wearing dark glasses. Like the car, they, too, sparkle with rain. His face is rugged, more handsome than beautiful. His strong jaw is shadowed faintly with stubble. I wonder what he looks like when he smiles. If he does smile.

Why is he here? Is he debating whether to go in? Or is he waiting for someone?

For one dizzy, strange moment, I wish he were waiting for me. Aeris Thorne.

Najboljši del je po mojem mnenju: That’s when I see him. Dr. Hunter Cayman. Obožujem namreč te trenutke napetosti in mogočne stavke. Upam, da razumeš, kaj imam v mislih. Komaj čakam, da knjigo preberem v celoti!

The best part for me is: That’s when I see him. Dr. Hunter Cayman. In the same moment I read this sentence I assumed that I will love this book. I'm addicted to tension and this sentence is one of them. I hope you do understand what I mean. I can't wait to read this book!

Spremembe, spremembe | Changes on the horizon

Hejla in dobrodošla!

Hello everybody and welcome to my new blog posts.
As you can see this isn't my regular post. At first sight you see that text is written in two colors and when you quickly fly over text you also see why I did that. Now I write in slovenian and english. Of course you can guess why I did that, but I will tell you anyway. ( I apologise in advance for all mistakes I made and probably will make).

No, in takrat se je porodila ideja o pisanju v obeh jezikih.

Untill now I wrote mostly book reviews. Some of the books I read in slovenian and some of them in english. As a blogger I want my posts to be helpful for you. But sadly they are not, because many books I read haven't been translated yet and probably never will be. For some of you, who read only in slovenian that kind of posts are not intresting and I totally understand why: you will never read those books.
Later I asked myself: How about I impress you with my review and you started reading in english? Well that's how the idea of writing in two languages was born.

And that's not the only change I made Smeško z odprtimi usti, the best is yet to come. If you are following me, you must know that I love reading, but you probablly  you don't know that I also like reading about books. What I mean by that you can read bellow..

I am a nice person and I am willing to give you a hint about coming posts. Beneath you can see badges that will definitely show up in many other posts.

Sedaj bodo bile objave razdeljene v 3 glavne kategorije:
From now on I will have posts categorized in 3 groups:

• book news
• book reviews
• me singing

You can probably figure out the meaning of the first two categories → book news ( news from the book world) and book reviews ( my opinion about books I read). If you are hoping for videos of me singing, thats not going to happen anytime soon, sorry. Because the meaning of me singing doesn't have literal meaning it has a 'secret meaning'.

Ko sem izbirala ime sem vse to poskušala združiti in nekako sem vse povezala s ptičjim petjem, ki me v naravi vedno spremlja.
S kategorijo me singing sem sebe nekako poosebila v ptico in moje besede, misli so ptičje petje. V tej kategoriji bom objavljala predvsem vse kar ni povezano s knjigami.

Maybe you wonder about the name of my blog Pesem ptic ( Bird songs), it's high time you found out. I'm the type of person who loves animals, enjoy reading and being outside. When I was thinking about blog name I wanted to combine all that and thought of birds. They are singing no matter the weather, they sing every day, but their song are different from day to day however we all love to listen to them.
In some ways I'm just like birs: always the same but in the same time slightly different each day. The most important is that they are free, like the expression free as a bird. Well I already gone to far away from the topic, so I really need to continue with the explanation of me singing. On blog I embody myself as a bird and my words and thoughts are songs of a bird. In category me singing I am going to post all posts that are not connected to books.

Upam, da ti bo nov način objavljanja všeč :)
I hope you will like all the changes :)

Finding Paris - Joy Preble

Finding Paris - Joy Preble

moje mnenje

Začetek in konec spoilerja bom označila s črto.
